I have a friend who is very intelligent but tends to over think things at times. Maybe he has too much time on his hands or maybe that is what makes him so smart. I tend to take music at face value and I try not to over analyze music. Over analyzing music, many times, takes the fun out of the music and I like to have fun. Concerning music I have heard people say they don't understand the music. To me, there is nothing to understand, I go with the flow and let the music take me where it will. I don't even try to decipher the words, the vocals are just another instrument and the words just form a cadence. Some phrases stick with me such as, "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." But for the most part music is made to enjoy not fret over.
My friend has decided that The Beatles White Album needs to be reworked and cut down to a single album, one hour long. The Beatles had discussions as to whether they should release the White Album as a double album release or as two separate single albums. The Beatles never intended to throw out half of the White Albums music and release just one single album. As a matter of fact many songs that showed up on later Beatles albums and solo albums were recorded during the White Album sessions. Some of the songs that did not make the White Album are; Mean Mr. Mustard, Polythene Pam and Something off of Abbey Road; Jealous Guy off of Imagine; Junk off of Paul McCartney's first solo album; Not Guilty and Circles off of Harrison's Gone Troppo album; Long and Winding Road off of Let It Be. Some excellent music did not make it on to the White Album because the music that was chosen was so good and so different from any thing else that had been made up until this album. Revolution #9 many people today will turn their noses up at but nothing had been made up to 1968 that sounded any thing like it before.
The White Album sat atop the charts at #1 for 9 weeks and is ranked #10 on Rolling Stones top 500 Albums of all time. Jan Weener tends to get things wrong on his lists but, it still shows that the White Album is an excellent album. The White Album sold 9.5 million copies, to the record company that means they sold 19 million units. Why would anyone feel that the White Album needs to be improved upon? It is sacrilegious to believe that half of the songs on this album should be thrown away.

Now some other guy has just sent a list as to how he thinks the White Album should be cut up. This guy could not even get the time down to under and hour so that it would fit on vinyl. Plus he is dragging different versions of the songs that were found in some archive some where. Where does it end and what purpose does it serve? George Martin and the boys did very well for themselves without a little help from my friends. I don't think they would appreciate the help now. Leave well enough alone and enjoy the music.

President Obama
Thank God we have a new President. I don't believe there is a person in the United States that can wish that President Bush would have stayed in office any longer. We needed a change. The Bush policies of deregulation got us into a hell of a mess. The rich were getting richer and the poor were getting poorer and the middle class was falling behind. The oil tycoons and Haliburton were getting more and more wealthy every day. The blue collar workers were being held hostage and asked to cut their wages and benefits while executives prospered with huge bonuses from failing companies.
People are already claiming that President Obama wants to steer the country towards Socialism. I don't believe that to be true. President Obama wants health care for any one who doesn't have it right now. He also wants stipulations on any bailout money that he is going to be handing out. That is not Socialism.
Bush gave 350 billion dollars away and know one can account for where it went or how it is helping the economy recover. President Obama is willing to give 350 billion dollars away with strings attached so that the American people can get an accounting of how the money is being used. My tax dollars are being used I want to know how it is benefiting me. If you do not like the strings that are attached then don't ask for the money. Socialism is if the government forcefully takes over all the banks for the good of the people. But, if the banks come willingly to get bailout money with strings attached that is not socialism. No one is begging the capitalists to take the bailout money. I wish that they would not take the money and that the banks could get themselves out of trouble but they can't or won't.
When bush first came up with the bailout plan I hoped and prayed that he was right and that his policy would work. I pretty much over the years have come to the opinion that Bush was an idiot but, I still wanted his policies to work so that all Americans could prosper. Wanting a President to succeed, even when he doesn't have the same ideals as me, as an individual, is what being a true American, a true Patriot is all about. To wish that the President fails is Treason; its unamerican, its unpatriotic. The President is running America and by wishing that he fails you are wishing that the United States fail. You might as well throw the flag on the ground and stomp on it. I will defend a persons right to freedom of speech but, if you are hoping that America is going to fail because you are not of the same political party as the President, then I pray that you die a painful death from cancer soon. Lets rid this country of this pox.
You Ditto Heads need to pull your heads out of your ass and realize how putrid your leader is to this country. He makes up facts to fit his argument for the day. He is a rabble rouser who is going to undermine the American Government. He uses his audience to spew hatred towards other Americans. He tries to break down the system so that it doesn't work. He is pushing for Anarchy. Ask yourself why?

Rather than do a little research and be able to think for themselves they would rather drink the Rush Kool-aid and spew the same false hoods that their leader is spewing.
I will defend your right of freedom of speech but make sure your facts are correct. Freedom of speech is not the freedom to tell lies. If you are quoting Rush Limpdick then you better check your facts because much of what he says are out and out lies or twisted truths. You will sound uneducated if you blindly go around quoting this miscreant. I have caught so many of you sheep in the past two years telling Rush lies. When confronted with the true facts, it is funny to see your heads cock to the side and your mouths drop open and your eyes roll slowly around in your head and you kind of stutter because you finally are having to think for yourself. Gran Torino
Gran Torino:
I went to see the movie Gran Torino this weekend and found myself churning through a range of emotions that no movie has put me through in years. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I laughed, cheered, cried, felt uneasy at times and relieved. Clint Eastwood a politically incorrect Korean War veteran is a holdout in a racially changing neighborhood. Clint hates the way his neighborhood is changing and is dragged into defending part of his neighborhood that he hates. What a well written story that no group of chinks, gooks, waps, spics or blacks have come forward to protest the language in Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood calls it the way many older White Americans see it but in the end finds a piece of himself that has been buried away for years and does what he has to do to atone for his past life. Bigotry is alive and well in this country but Gran Torino shows that there is hope, that people can change and that even a hardened bigot will put his feelings behind him to stand up for what is morally right. Bigotry is based in the mind morals are based in the heart. when it comes right down to it most people will follow their heart. The story, the acting, the setting all drag you into familiar territory that we can see being played out around us every day. Maybe not to the extreme this movie goes to but areas in every city are having to deal with the racial change and the cultural change that comes along with the colliding cultures. People have to learn to be more tollerant of each other. This movie should clean up at the Oscars. I give the movie Five Twirls with some moth catcher hand moves.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
What are Jan Weener and the rest of the Hall of Fame voters thinking by inducting the RAP Band Run DMC? This is the Rock Hall not the RAP or Hip Hop Hall. There are too many deserving Rock and Roll artists that still have not been inducted to the Rock Hall to start letting in RAP groups. What next Roy Clark? Don't get me wrong Roy Clark is one of the best guitar pickers to ever pick up a guitar but he should not be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Motown is not voting in Rappers so why is RRHF? I don't get it. I would list the outcast of deserving artist but the list would be so long that it would fill this whole site. As a member of the Rock Hall and a patron I am very concerned by the watering down of the field of choice for inductees. The Rock Hall should have a higher standard than just any body who sells CD's. There is the genre of Rock and Roll and there is the genre of RAP do not confuse the two. Let the RAP stars start their own Hall of Fame they do not belong on the Lake Erie waterfront unless they are in a seperate buiding.

Sarah Palin Whines
Sarah Palin still has not learned to keep her mouth shut, regroup and come back later as a credible candidate. This bimbo keeps shooting off her mouth on silly little trivial matters that no one cares about and that will eventually kill her chance at running for any other public office in the future. Sarah then will whine that she was treated unfairly again. I can't take a woman serious that wants to play ball with the big boys then whines about how she was mistreated by the media. Who can take this woman serious in her politics when she is obsessed with the way the media treated her. You are in politics bitch get some thicker skin or grow some balls. Hillary has thick enough skin not to care what people say about her and the balls to come after you if you did say it. Grow some balls and quit your whining
Katie Couric and Tina Fey did not use you. You were trying to use them but you were not savvy enough to pull it off and it backfired on you. As a matter of fact the best thing to happen to you was that Tina Fey played you on SNL, that was the best you came off in the whole campaign. Your popularity soared after Fey portrayed you. I was actually pissed that a Left Wing show like SNL gave you so much airtime. Yes it was a Left Wing conspiracy, SNL never made fun of Hillary or Bill. Oh Please, quit your whining.
Palin recently said that Carolyn Kennedy is getting preferential treatment from the media because of her family name and because she is a Democrat. Oh Please! Carolyn Kennedy has been mocked for her speech patterns and for her lack of response to questions as to what she stands for on political questions. That doesn't sound like preferential treatment to me. That sounds like whoe is me I lost and now I will blame everyone but myself, quit your whining!
Sarah you were running for the second highest office in the world, you don't see a difference between the office of Vice President and a US Senator? No one knew who you were when you were Governor of Alaska just like no one knows who half of the US Senators are unless they get caught in some sort of scandal. Speaking of scandal how is your daughters drug addicted soon to be mother in-law? I would be more concerned about my daughter marrying a GED educated electrician with the fine pedigree that he comes from than what the press did or did not do during your campaign. You Betcha. Get your family together before you even think of running for a higher political office again. If you can't even run your family how are you supposed to be trusted to run the country? The media is picking on me and my family, wha ,wha, wha, shut up and quit your whining.
You also mentioned class separation in reference to Carolyn Kennedy. You have no class you sold out your family by telling everyone how proud you were of your pregnant daughter then after the public back lash you blamed it on the press for leaking the story. You flaunted your autistic child for sympathy votes. You are a back woods hill jack that needs to keep her mouth shut before you ruin your political career and your family. The only whine you should have is with the Republican Party who used you for what you are a pretty face, no brains, no experiance and no penis, just a pretty face. You will never stand next to a Condoleeza Rice, Hillary Clinton or a Nancy Pelosi you are not in their league. You are small time. You had your 15 minutes of fame now quit your whining and go away.

Eric Mangini
Eric Mangini is the new Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns. I wish they would have waited to talk to Mike Shanahan from Denver. I believe that Shanahan is a better coach and he has the longevity to prove he can handle the pressure of the NFL. Mangini is relatively young and possibly could implode under the pressure.
Randy Lerner is relatively young and keeps looking for guys his age or younger who will look up to him as their boss. Let me make a statement about Randy and some other wealthy people I know. Just because you are rich doesn't mean you are smart. George Bush prime example. Randy get a proven coach, quit with the young guys and the unproven.
Alright, Eric Mangini is a done deal. Did you see who Mangini is thinking about hiring for his Defensive Coordinator? ROB RYAN from the Oakland Raiders. The Oakland Raiders who were ranked 24th in pts allowed, 27th in yds allowed, 30th in passing yds and 10th in rushing yds. Sorry Eric, I don't care how much of a friend Rob is he is not working for me as a defensive coordinator. Randy if you let this happen I want you to sell the team.

Eight years as the Defensive coordinator for Tennessee and we all know that year after year Tennessee has one of the best defenses in all of the NFL. Mr. Schwartz worked for the Browns before they left for Baltimore. Do you remember when the Browns were competitive? Tennessee was ranked 2nd in pts allowed, 7th in yds allowed, 9th in passing yds and 6th in rushing yds. Randy tell Eric we don't want your buddy Ryan (Pun intended), we want a proven defensive coordinator.
Dick Lebeau from Shitsburgh would be another excellent choice. He was born in Ohio and played for Ohio State. His defensive ranking in 2008 is 1st in pts allowed, 1st in yds allowed, 1st in passing yds and 2nd in rushing yds. We can't get him because Pittspuke would be a fool to let him go. Randy doesn't have enough money to get a top notch guy like Lebeau.
How about Greg Blache from Washington, he may not be a household name like Lebeau or Ryan but he has a proven track record. In 2008 he ranked 6th in Pts allowed, 4th in yds allowed, 7th in passing yds and 8th in rushing yds. I'll take those numbers over Ryan's pedigree any time. See Randy this would be an intellegent move.

As I always say "If they don't produce cut them loose". I am not happy with your choice of Eric Mangini but I will cheer him on and hope he can produce a watchable football team. I see no good coming from bringing Rob Ryan to town. Get me a proven defensive coordinator. If I have time I will tell you who to get for Offensive Coordinator in a later blog. Randy remember just because your Daddy made a lot of money doesn't mean that you inherited his brains.
