Here are a few items that just don't make sense to me. A woman tasers a cheer leading coach in Oklahoma. The woman is sentenced to five years in prison. A fireman from Dublin, Ohio, shoots his two dogs because he does not want to pay for kennel fees while he is on vacation. The fireman is sentenced to 90 days in jail, a $4,500.00 fine and the fire department fires him. Donte' Stallworth, wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns drives drunk and kills a human being and he gets 30 days in jail, 2 years of house arrest, (should be called mansion arrest), 8 years of probation, 1,000 hours of community service. While Donte' is on house arrest he will be allowed to play football.
What is wrong with our Judicial System? A man who kills another human being gets 30 days in jail. He gets less time in jail than a man who kills a dog. Less time than a woman who didn't even kill someone. Am I the only one who sees the disparity here.
OK the woman who goes out to intentionally hurt another human being, has no intention of killing the coach, she used a taser only to harm. Five years, seems a bit stiff but OK I can go along with that.
Man kills his own pets. The guy is a jerk. He gets 90 days in jail, a little light of a sentence. I thought it should have been more like 6 months, but I can live with it. Fire Department does right and fires the A-hole.
Now we come to the drunken NFL player. WHAT THE HELL WAS THE JUDGE THINKING? 30 days?? He is under Mansion Arrest and can still travel around the country and stay in swank hotels and get payed millions of dollars. That is some punishment. How come I never got punished like that? This is like telling your kid to go to his room where he has a 42" flat screen with cable, DVD, computer, cell phone and three of his friends waiting. Where is the punishment? Then we wonder why Athletes act like such dick weeds. Put Stallworths ass in jail for at least five years. And if his attorney wants to appeal the sentence put his ass right next to Stallworth's in jail. 30 days is a travesty of justice. I want the Judge put in jail for contempt of humanity.
If Stallworth is allowed to play for the Browns I will be yelling when they announce his name. I wont be yelling yeah. I will be yelling MURDERER.

Marcia Ball, Beachland Ballroom 6/5/09
It was a cool June evening in Cleveland on Friday night, unless you were at the Beachland Ballroom, then it was a hot Louisiana night. Marcia Ball was in town and she had the Ballroom smoking hot with her Cajun flavored blues and rock. This tall drink of water from Austin Texas is the hottest piano player, playing that New Orleans sound piano, made famous by Professor Longhair. Boy, can she cook on the piano. Her hands look like two spiders crawling around on the keyboard and yes, from the sound you would swear that she has 16 fingers.
Marcia played some of her old classics such as "La Ti Da", "Red Beans and Rice", "Play With Your Poodle", and a show topper Professor Longhairs "Mardis Gras". Hooowe can that girl play piano! And of course since Katrina leveled New Orleans Marcia always does the haunting song "Louisiana".
Much of the night was spent on new material, off of her new CD entitled Peace, Love and BBQ, that was quite good. Off of the new CD she played "Peace, Love and BBQ" a good party song. A song that was darker than most of Marcia's good time music called, "Down in the Neighborhood", about a cheating man, was different for her, I loved it. on the CD "Down in the Neighborhood" doesn't sound as dark as when she played it in concert. Another kind of slow dark song was "Miracle in Knoxville", that poor devil can't ever win. "Married Life" had me dancing, this song is a cooker. Marcia Ball cooks on piano. The bluesy "Falling Back in Love With You" will be a favorite for years to come and showed off some of guitar player Andrew Nafzigel fancy guitar work. "Ride It Out" is a tear jerker song with a funny twist at the end. I will let you hear for yourself what the twist is, it will make you chuckle.
This next paragraph is not good journalism. I tried to find out who the rest of the band were but I can only guess that the band is the same as on the CD without the guest appearances. If anyone wants to correct me I would appreciate the input. Thad Scott on sax was phenomenal, after every one of his solos he drew rousing applause. I did feel bad for the guitar player Andrew Nafzigel , who was also phenomenal, but for some reason did not get the audience recognition that saxophone player Thad Scott received. A fickle crowd I guess. I ran into Uncle Ronny, the drummer from Lude McDude, at the show, he did not care for Marcia Balls drummer Corey Keller. Uncle Ronny felt that he did not add enough highlights to the music. I thought he was OK. Long time bass player Don Bennett was there to hold everyone together and did a superb job. Marcia Ball was excellent on piano, she cooks.
My friend Nee and her friend Laura were in attendance. They were Marcia Ball virgins that seemed to really love the show. They were dancing as much as I was. Mike Sokolowski needs to change the name of his University Inn to Rock Star Foods, he got a plug as to how good his food is from Marcia Ball. Paul Thorn, Marcia Ball, who's next? Rock Music Critic, Greg Cielec, felt that the Beachland should not have put chairs out in a concert seating arrangement. "People should be dancing" Greg thought. I pointed out to Greg that we were probably two of the younger guys at the concert. Chairs were a plus for the older crowd. Marcia definitely drew an older crowd. There was enough room around the sides and the back for dancers like me. My Honey Bunny really enjoyed the show and when she is happy, I am happy. This was a definite Five twirl show. Marcia Ball sure knows how to cook a crowd. Did I mention how good she is on piano.

Illegal Immigrants
Illegal immigrants should be a hot topic amongst every tax paying citizen. They are a huge drain on our economic system. Remember when doing research on illegal immigrants that all data is suspect because these people are here illegally so they do not come forward with statistics. The statistics have to be estimated and derived from deductions of the census people. Such as, the IRS gets millions of bogus social security numbers on tax forms each year, how many are from mistaken typos and how many are from illegal aliens who try and look legitamate to an employer? An educated guess is made at this point and a statistic is then made.
There are an estimated 12 to 14 million illegal immigrants in this country today. Texas estimates that they spend 1.3 Billion Dollars a year in support of illegal immigrants health costs. Texas and California has one of the largest illegal immigrant popultions in the United States along with New York, New Jersey, Florida, North Carolina, Nevada. An estimated 35 Billion Dollars a year is spent nationally on illegal immigrants health costs alone. In North Carolina there is a Clinic that offers $6.00 office visits and $6.00 prescriptions to illegal immigrants. I wish I could get a deal like that. I am spending $25.00 copay and $150.00 out of pocket per month on prescriptions. Not to mention the cost of the insurance. Why are we coddeling these people?
Americans spend on average $6,875.00 per student in public schools. We pay 12 Billion Dollars a year on educating illegal immigrants children. 28 Billion Dollars a year is spent if you include the children of illegal immigrants whos children are US born citizens. Imagine if we could spread that money out to legal Americans for education. We could have some of the best schools in the world.
Yes I have heard the argument that illegal immigrants pay into the Social Security program and they will never be able to collect out of it. The argument goes that 7 Million illegal immigrants pay taxes and social security on fake social security numbers. this money goes into the coffers of the variouse government entities and is used on legal Americans. From all of the numbers that I have looked at that means there are 5 to 7 Million Illegals that do not pay taxes and are a total drain on our economy. Even when you factor in the taxes that Illegal immigrants pay all accounts say they cost the US taxpayer 20 Billion Dollars per year more than they pay into the system.
I have heard the argument also that illegal immigrants are taking the low paying jobs that Americans wont do. When I was high school I had friends who worked in the green houses and I myself worked at a carwash and in restaurant kitchens washing dishes. Those were young Americans first jobs. You either learned that you needed to go to school and study or get yourself into a trade that was better than doing these menial labor tasks. It was a learning experience. You had to work from the bottom up. In construction I have seen full crews of illegal immigrants pouring concrete, applying EIFS to buildings and Landscaping. These are good paying jobs that are being taken from Americans because the immigrant will work for less and pay kick backs to the owners of the companies.
I have never given a nationality to the illegal immigrants because I don't care the nationality, if you are here illegally you are illegal, hence the term illegal. 17% of illegal immigrants are from Middle Eastern Countries. Who are these people and do they mean to do us harm? The only way we will know is if we tighten up our borders, only allow legal immigrants who have applied for green cards and or work visas into this country and prosecut and deport any ILLEGAL immigrant. In the long run it may cost us a few Billion Dolars the first four or five years but after that the savings would offset the intial cost of ridding ourselves of the illegal immigrant. An estimated 45 Billion Dollars a year get sent out of the United States to the homelands of the illegal immigrants. Just by stopping that money from leaving the United States would be a start to a healthier US economy.
We all need to put pressure on our elected officials to do something about this problem. Large corporations who employ these illegal immigrants are our biggest problem. These corporations give large sums of money to the campaings of politicians to allow this cheap, illegal labor to exist in this country. The IRS if it notices that there are alot of phoney Social Security numbers coming from a company sends the company a letter asking why and to verify the Social Security numbers. The IRS should be sending agents to round up these illegal immigrants. Big business wont allow it to happen. Both the Democratic party and the Republican party have ignored this problem. People need to speak out or change will never come.
